4th Urban Trek set on October 12, 2008 in Davao City, Philippines
The 4th Urban Trek organized and presented by the Edge Outdoor Recreational Group (E-ORG) and the Edge Outdoor Specialist is set this coming October 12 in Matina, fronting the Matina Gallera Cockpit (Shrine Hills road) which is geared towards giving local mountaineers a chance to hone their trekking skills and endurance.
According to Rey Sumagaysay of the E-ORG and trail master Ran-Ran Prigonta, this event has a registration fee of P180 (inclusive of a souvenir shirt) and P50 (no shirt) and is expected to draw in some 300 mountaineers from various clubs and groups here and in the nearby towns.
“We cannot divulge the end point of the trek but like the previous years it will end up in a resort, where the participants can relax and refresh afterwards. It will feature both rugged and paved terrain plus some river trekking which makes it somewhat exciting since this is still within the confines of the city. Some people would think that these places are non-existent here pero andyan lang yan,” he said.
The trek director is no less than veteran mountaineer Loreto Bolo and registration forms are available at the Edge Outdoor Shop in Bajada and Matina.
Meanwhile, special awards will also be given during the affair likethe youngest and the oldest participant and the best in attire as well as a raffle.

That was my first time to join the trek, i find it exciting and fulfilling esp.going to the river. Nice trek..Hope it will build lasting friendship with the aim to help protect our mother earth.
