Losing Team Unity Philippine Senatorial bets appointed government posts
It started with an appointment and another followed until it is very visible even to the ordinary JUAN. Absurd as it may seem but TEAM UNITY Senatorial bets who lost in 2007 Philippine elections are now given seats in the governments.
It started with the appointment of former Senator Ralph Recto was appointed as head of the National Economic Development Authority (NEDA) after the controversial Romulo Neri was transferred to head the Social Security Systems (SSS). Former Congressman Prospero Pitchay ( PICHAY itanim sa Senado) now heads the Local Waer Utilities Administration while Vicente Sotto III heads the Dangerous Drug Board. Former Presidential Chief of Staff Michael Defensor was task force head on Ninoy Aquino International Airport. Yesterdays news over ABS-CBN confirms that Luis Chavit Singson is indeed the new deputy National Security Adviser (NSA).
Governments offices are built on pubic trust. Key officials appointed to the positions should have at least the capability to handle this gigantic task. But the way things are going, appointments are based on who’s close to the president and not who’s capable of doing the task.
No wonder why the government loses more genuine talents every year.
